  • Q: How to remove and install the accumulator in a Toyota MR2?
    A: Remove the spare tire and trim cover. Disconnect the two liquid line fittings from the accumulator. Cap the fittings immediately to prevent moisture from entering the system. Loosen the accumulator retaining strap screws and remove the accumulator. Installation is the reverse of removal, Be sure to tighten the liquid line fittings to the specified torque. If a new accumulator is being installed, add about 20 cc (0.7 oz)of compressor oil to the compressor.
