Remove cable of negative terminal of battery and HT wire of ignition coil. For ascertaining the primary coil resistance, it is required to put probes of ohmmeter at both positive and negative terminals and the obtained reading should be in the range of 0.5 to 0.7ohm. For secondary coil resistance, place the meter between the positive terminal and the high tension terminal, should read from 11,000 to 16,000 ohms. If primary or secondary circuits are not above these specifications, replace the coil. Disconnect the wires of the
Igniter, and unscrew the bolts holding the coil bracket as well as the coil. Disconnect the coil from the igniter; then, join the new coil with the old igniter. Lastly, installation also takes place in the inverse sequence to the removal.
