  A: In 2001 through 2003 models, the removal procedure for the air conditioning system involves evacuating it by a service facility with the proper equipment. It also includes disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the auxiliary 12-volt battery and performing the initialization procedure upon reconnecting it. Additional steps include removing the wiper arms, rubber cowl top weatherstrip, louvered cowl top covers, wiper motor, ABS relay wiring block, wiper motor wiring harness, outer front cowl top panel, and draining the engine coolant. Disconnecting air conditioning lines, coolant hoses, instrument panel assembly, Blower Motor, defroster duct, and lower air duct, and removing the air conditioning unit is also part of the process. For 2004 through 2009 models, draining the engine coolant, disconnecting air conditioning lines, coolant hoses, instrument panel assembly, floor air duct, upper air ducts, transmission control computer, powertrain control module, network gateway computer, instrument panel brace, and air conditioning amplifier assembly are involved in the removal.
