Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the engine cover by pulling up to detach the retainers. Each ignition coil is secured by a bolt; disconnect the electrical connectors, remove the mounting bolts, then pull the coils off of the spark plugs and out of the valve cover using a twisting motion. Unscrew the bolt, disconnect the electrical connector, and pull the coil straight up with a twisting motion. With the coils removed, use compressed air to blow out debris from inside and the area around the spark plug holes. Installation is the reverse of removal, applying a dab of dielectric compound to the inside of the coil boots to ensure a clean connection to the spark plugs.
