How to remove and install Steering Wheel on Toyota Rav4?

Before attempting to take out the air bag module, the ignition key should be turned off, additionally the cable of the negative terminal of the battery should be disconnected, and the person should wait for not less than 2 minutes. Next, straighten out the car steering wheel so that the tires of the automobile are straight and parallel to one another. In order to remove the spiral cables you have to check that the steering wheel is also deligated and stripped off as well as the upper and lower steering column covers. Place additional tape around the spiral cable housing to lock into the non-turning position; thereafter, depower the electrical connection and pry the claw type clips to get rid of the spiral cable sub assembly. For the installation, it is important that the front wheels are straight, the spiral cable is to be centrally placed by rotating it anti- clockwise until it cannot turn anymore, and then making approximately a 2 ½ turns clockwise ensuring that the two pointers are appropriately aligned. Insert plastic wedge at the bottom of the two screws, connect the spiral cable back, put back the covers to the steering wheel and finally fix the steering wheel with the two screws to be aligned. Screw the nut, insert the cruise control and horn connectors and then connect the airbag module electrical connectors and then lock them with the yellow safety lock. Place the airbag module wiring appropriately, insert till the air bag comes under the retaining springs and then tighten it, connect the negative cable of the battery. Switch on the vehicle and ensure that the air bag lamp is on for less than five seconds then off, this tells you that the air bag system is okay.

Switch on the vehicle and ensure that the air bag lamp is on for less than five seconds then off, this tells you that the air bag system is okay.
