Then, remove the drain plug and drain the differential oil into a suitable container before reinstalling the drain plug finger-tight. Next, remove the rear Axle Shafts and disconnect the driveshaft flange from the companion flange. After that, remove the nuts from the differential carrier and pull out the differential assembly, making sure to loosen the mounting nuts in a criss-cross pattern. It's important to note that the overhaul of the differential unit requires specialized gauges and tools, so it's best to exchange it for a factory reconditioned assembly if servicing or repair is needed due to wear or excessive noise. To install the rear differential, scrape off any old gasket residue from the mating surfaces of the axle housing and position a new gasket on the housing using ATV sealant. Then, follow the reverse of the removal procedure for installation. Finally, fill the differential with the proper grade and quantity of lubricant after installation.
