How to replace the rear liftgate lift support on a Toyota Supra?

Have an assistant support the liftgate while replacing the Liftgate Lift Supports, using a special hood support bar or an alternate device if necessary to prevent the liftgate from falling. Remove the bolts from the lower end of the Liftgate Lift Support and detach it from the body. If needed, take off the inner side garnish from the liftgate. For models from 1987 and later, use two open-end wrenches to disconnect the upper end of the Liftgate Lift Support by locating the two hex nuts, loosening one while keeping the other stationary, and then remove the Liftgate Lift Support from the liftgate. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
