Clamp off the fluid feed hose coming from the brake master cylinder and raise the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands. For V6 models, remove the clutch housing cover and disconnect the clutch fluid hydraulic line from the clutch slave cylinder using a flare-nut wrench to protect the tube nut. Have rags handy to catch any fluid loss and a plug ready to prevent leakage. Remove the two clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts and separate the clutch slave cylinder from the transmission. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the pushrod dust boot is in good condition and the pushrod is seated correctly in its pocket in the release lever. Tighten the clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts to the specified torque. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system and add fluid to the brake master cylinder as necessary. For the accumulator on V6 models, remove the clutch housing cover and disconnect the clutch fluid hydraulic lines from the accumulator, again using a flare-nut wrench and having rags and a plug ready. Remove the three accumulator mounting bolts and separate the accumulator from the transmission. Installation is the reverse of removal, tightening the accumulator mounting bolts to the specified torque. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system and add fluid to the brake master cylinder as necessary. Take care to avoid contact between fluid and paint, as it will damage the finish.
