How to adjust the clutch pedal height and freeplay on 2005 through 2009 Toyota Tacoma?

One has to strip off the covering of the floor in the form of mats or carpets to reveal the sound decoupling material. Now that the car is in the usual position, move this measuring tape from the floor up to where the clutch pedal is touching it and then check that result against the pedal height. If the height of the pedal is a problem, remove the lower finish panel(s) and then for change the height, where it is possible to unscrew the locknut and turn round the adjustment bolt which is in the upper part of the pedal.
