One has to strip off the covering of the floor in the form of mats or carpets to reveal the sound decoupling material. Now that the car is in the usual position, move this measuring tape from the floor up to where the clutch pedal is touching it and then check that result against the pedal height. If the height of the pedal is a problem, remove the lower finish panel(s) and then for change the height, where it is possible to unscrew the locknut and turn round the adjustment bolt which is in the upper part of the pedal. Once the rider is content with the position of the pedal, then the locknut must be tightened properly. Press the clutch pedal down until there is a slight resistance and then, determine the distance from the base of the car floor to the clutch pedal and then; If the pedal free play is wrong check it by taking off the lower finish panel(s) and correct it by rotating the pushrod and loosening the lock nut to the required freeplay. Once the amount of pedal freeplay is set correctly, screw in the locknut properly with increased pressure. After making the adjustment to freeplay, take the height of the pedal once more to verify that it has not gone beyond the allowed limit of adjustment. Ensure and possibly tweak the clutch start switch.
