The following procedure applies to conventional external type antennas and does not apply to the glass-printed antennas used on some Sequoia models, which should be serviced by a dealer service department or other qualified repair shop. Begin by removing the radio and unplugging the antenna cable, then trace the routing of the cable and detach all cable clamps or clips. Attach about four or five feet of string or wire to the antenna lead to assist with the installation of the new antenna lead. For non-power antenna models, use a small open-end wrench to unscrew the antenna mast. For power antenna models, push the ornament trim ring upwards from the bottom until it releases from the fender. Next, remove the inner fender well splash shield, then remove the antenna base mounting bolt inside the fender well, detach the antenna base, and pull out the antenna lead until the string or wire is exposed. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the antenna lead is routed back into the vehicle.
