Q: How to remove and install leaf springs on a Toyota Tundra?
A: Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Block the front wheels to keep the vehicle from rolling off the stands. Remove the wheel. Support the axle with a floor jack and raise it just enough to take the weight and relieve the tension on the leaf springs. Remove the four U-bolt nuts and washers. Remove the spring seat and U-bolts. Note the location and position of any caster adjusting wedges. Remove the nut from the hanger pin bolt, then remove the bolt. Remove the nuts and washers from the shackle bolts. Remove the bolts and detach the shackle from the frame, then remove the spring assembly from the vehicle. If the bushings at the ends of the spring are worn or deteriorated, an automotive machine shop can press the old ones out and press new ones in. Installation is the reverse of removal. Gradually tighten the U-bolt nuts in a crisscross pattern. The hanger pin and shackle pin bolts/nuts should also be tightened, but this should be done with the vehicle resting at normal ride height. Tighten the lug nuts.
