To sedemn the mirror, the first step is to have to take off a door trim panel and then to unclip the triangular one installed inside the base of the mirror. For electric mirrors, first, remove the mirror wiring plug. Subsequently, take out the three mirror mounting nuts as the last nut is being unscrewed and the mirror comes out together with any wires that might be connected. For refitting reverse the procedures pay especial attention to the condition of the mirror to body gasket as water may get in, make sure the mounting nuts to the mirror are correctly tightened to the recommended torque setting, replace door trim panel. Motor is mounted onto the mirror and it cannot be repaired individually; if the motor is problematic, the mirror as well has to be replaced. In order to get the mirror switch out of the car, firstly, using a piece of plastic strip or stick you locate and push the mirror switch door panel off the facia trying not to damage it because it is very fragile then you would unlock the wiring plug of the switch and take the switch out. The process of refitting the switch is primarily to reverse the process of removing it and test it to work properly before final fixing of the panel. In this case, the mirror glass can be either replaced or removed with the mirror still in place since the glass is clipped to it and can be detached by lifting the lower part of the glass at two depiction cut-outs with a screwdriver and then unclipping it from its mounting plate. Thus, after unhooking the glass from the seat and the upper mountings, it becomes possible to remove it downwards; it is also possible to detach the wiring plug if necessary for electric models. For refitting, hook the glass at the top and fit the bottom edge of the glass on to the Pikatron clips, use a flat bladed screw driver under the glass mounting plate in order to support the glass when engaging the clips.
