How to remove the gear lever and Shift Cable on Manual transmission on Toyota Yaris?

Disconnect the two cables from the levers and remove the retaining plates. Remove the four bolts securing the unit and lift it out. Disconnect the cables from the levers, detach their collars, and jack up the car. Underneath, remove the bolts securing the cables' floor plate. Draw the cables through from inside the car. In the engine compartment, remove the clips holding the cables to the transmission bracket. Unhook the cable end fittings from the shift/select mechanism. The shift cables can now be removed. To refit, reverse the process and check all gears before driving.
