The areas of glass are covered by the prescribes interference fit of the weatherseal in the body aperture and are fixed in place using the approved adhesive. Replacement of such fixed glasses is a complex, dirty and, more importantly time consuming process which is viewed as something that cannot be done by any home mechanic. Getting a clinically correct, weatherproof seal is difficult if not done several times and the process is high risk of breakage especially with laminated glass windshields. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that owners allow such job to be done by well-experienced windshield fitters only.
