Ease the nuts on the lugs and then lift the car and place it on jackstands before removing the wheel. Next, unscrew the tie-rod end and the jam nut that is located on the side of the thread of the tie rod. Take off the outer rack and pinion boot clamp with pliers and splice the inner boot clamp with diagonal cutters after which withdrawing the boot. Before fitting in the new boot, the threads and serrations of the end of the steering rod should be covered by at least a layer of tapes so as not to harm the small end of the new boot. Place the new boot opposite to the old one and slide it in to the groove in the steering rod then fit new clamps. After that, cut or take off the tape and then, finally, place the tie-rod end. Next, put on the wheel and its lug nuts, lift the vehicle off the jack, and then torque the lug nuts.
