    Q:
How to Remove and Install the Camshaft Position Sensor and VVT Sensors on a 2007-2015 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Camshaft Position Sensor are utilized on four-cylinder models, while VVT sensors are utilized on V6 engine models. For 2009 and earlier models, the sensor is located on the left side of the cylinder head below the valve cover. To remove, begin by removing the air filter housing, followed by disconnecting the electrical connector. Unbolt the sensor and remove. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2010 and later models, the sensor(s) are mounted on the top of the valve cover. To remove them, the harness electrical connector needs to be disconnected, followed by removing the mounting screws and taking out the camshaft sensor(s) from the valve cover. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
What is the Function and Installation Process of the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2002 through 2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
The CMP sensor determines the position of the cylinder for sequential fuel injection signals to each cylinder and is mounted on the cylinder head near the camshaft sprocket, secured with one bolt. A problem in the sensor circuit will set a diagnostic trouble code. Ensure the ignition key is in the OFF position before removing the air filter housing. Disconnect the harness connector, remove the mounting bolt, and take out the CMP sensor from the cylinder head. Installation is the reverse of removal, using a new O-ring lightly coated with engine oil.

    Q:
How to Locate, Remove, and Install the Crankshaft Position Sensor on a 2002-2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor determines the timing for fuel injection and ignition on each cylinder, mounted on the timing chain cover next to the crankshaft pulley. A problem in the sensor circuit will set a diagnostic trouble code. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Next, work under the vehicle to remove the inner fender shield from the right side. Then, remove the bolt and detach the sensor. At the upper part of the timing cover, remove the bolt securing the CKP sensor harness, disconnect the CKP sensor connector, and withdraw the harness and sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to Locate and Replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on a Toyota Rav4? Posted by Customer
    A:
The CMP sensors are located on the top rear (driver's side) of the valve cover, and information regarding the camshaft VVT (variable valve timing) system and VVT oil control solenoids is available. First, ensure the ignition key is in the Off position. Next, remove the engine cover. The sensors are mounted at the left end (driver's side) of the valve cover. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector, remove the mounting bolt, and pull the camshaft position sensor straight out from the valve cover. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on a Toyota Sequoia? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is located at the front lower left corner of the engine. To replace it, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Remove the engine under-cover. On V6 models, remove the alternator and the bolt that secures the air conditioning suction line, disconnect the electrical connector from the air conditioning compressor, and unbolt the compressor. On V6 and 2UZ-FE V8 engines, disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector. On 1UR-FE, 3UR-FE, and 3UR-FBE V8 engines, remove the sensor protector mounting bolts and protector from the driver's side lower rear corner of the engine, then disconnect the sensor electrical connector. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolt. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal, making sure to tighten the CKP sensor retaining bolt securely.

    Q:
How to check and replace the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) on Toyota Sienna? Posted by Customer
    A:
The crankshaft position sensor (CKP) times the fuel injection and ignition on the cylinders and if there is a problem area in the relaying of the circuits a DTC is stored. To test the crankshaft sensor disconnect the sensor from the connector and with an ohmmeter test the terminals; because of the location, it is better to test it on bench. This test deals mainly with the crankshaft sensor and if this test yields the right result, this may be due to harm and or damage on the harness or possibly the PCM which can only be diagnosed by a dealer service department or better still a fully equipped repair store. For replacement, first, it is advisable to remove the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. For the 2006 and prior models, the right inner fender splash shield must be pulled out and for the 2007 and onward models, the air conditioning compressor should be taken off. After that, it will be necessary to pull up the crankshaft position electrical connector, relinquish the bolt, and, therefore, separate the sensor. Installation of the pipe is done in the reverse order as that adopted while removing it.
