The rear Sway Bar Kit is mounted similarly across all models, and the general removal and installation procedures involve several steps. First, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands, ensuring the front wheels are blocked to prevent rolling. Next, remove the Sway Bar Kit bracket bolts and detach the brackets. Then, take off the nut, cushions, and Sway Bar link at each end of the Sway Bar Kit, disconnecting it from the rear suspension arm, and detach the Sway Bar Kit itself. After that, inspect for any worn or defective bushings, cushions, or links, replacing them if necessary. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring all fasteners are tightened securely.

Remove the bolts from the stabilizer bar brackets. For 1982 through 1986 models, detach the strut bar (on one side only) from the control arm and unbolt the strut bar bracket from the body.
