Install the timing belt on the crankshaft, oil pump, water pump, and idler pulleys. 4. Slip the belt guide onto the crankshaft with the cupped side facing out. 5. Slip the timing belt over the camshaft pulley(s) while keeping tension on the side nearest the front of the vehicle. 6. Loosen the upper idler pulley bolt to allow the spring to apply pressure to the idler pulley. 7. Slowly turn the crankshaft clockwise two complete revolutions. 8. Tighten the idler pulley mounting bolt to the specified torque. 9. Recheck the timing marks and ensure they are aligned correctly. 10. Reinstall the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal. 11. Run the engine and check for proper operation.
