When fitting the boot, it is advisable to wrap the threads and serrations on the end of the steering rod with some tape particularly when fitting the small end of the new boot. Place the new boot into the required position over the rack and pinion and fit it into a groove of the steering rod then fit new clamps. Upon removing the above-mentioned tape you have to fix the tie-rod end. Lastly, cinch the wheel and lug nuts, adjust the vehicle and fasten the lug nuts putting adequate torque.
