You have to unscrew the lug nuts, lift the car using a jack and place it on jack stands; thereafter you can remove the wheel. Next, unlatch the tie-rod end and the jam nut. Using Channellocks, loosen and then take off the tie-rod end and the jam nut. Then remove the rack and pinion boot clamps: the outer one should be unbolted with the help of pliers; the inner one needs to be cut or unbolted and simply slipped off the boot. Before slipping the new boot onto the steering rod, a measure that must be taken is the wrapping of the threads and serrations on the end of the steering rod with tape so that it does not harm the small end of the new boot. Insert the new boot into the previously vacated slot on the steering gear to the level where it will fit into the groove of the steering rod before fitting new clamps. Pull off the tape after that, and fit in the tie-rod end. Last, secure the wheel and lug nuts properly, lower the car and then tire down the lug nuts to the recommended pound torque.
