    How do you disconnect the console from a 1988 Toyota Celica? Posted by Customer

    Start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery.Slide the seats fully forward and remove the rear screws on either side of the console.Push the seat fully back and remove the forward retention screw(s).Remove the screws located in the bottom of the console compartment.On late model vehicles, pull the tape box out of the console compartment to access the screws.Pull the hand brake as near to vertical as possible and remove the trim plate below the handbrake.Pull the whole console up and free.
