Toyota 90981-12010 Bulb

Depress the release tab and disconnect the electrical connector from the headlight bulb. Remove the rubber cover from the back of the headlight housing. Disengage the bulb retaining spring and swing it out of the way. Remove the bulb from the headlight housing. When installing the bulb, ensure that the three lugs on the mounting base of the bulb mounting flange are aligned with their corresponding cutouts in the headlight housing. Avoid touching the bulb with your fingers; if contact occurs, clean it with rubbing alcohol, as the oil from your skin can cause the bulb to overheat and fail. Installation is otherwise the reverse of removal.

Note that 2018 and later Sequoia models and some 2018 and later Tundra models use LED headlights, which are not serviceable; if there is a problem with an LED headlight, the entire headlight assembly must be replaced. First, unplug the electrical connector from the headlight bulb holder for both low beam and high beam. Next, if equipped, pull the rubber watershield off the bulb assembly. Then, turn the bulb body counterclockwise and remove it from the housing. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.

The inner headlight bulbs are the high-beam bulbs and the outer bulbs are the low-beam bulbs.

Plug in the electrical connector and insert the new bulb assembly into the headlight housing, twisting it clockwise to lock it in place.

When installing the new bulb, make sure that the three lugs on the mounting base of the bulb socket are aligned with their corresponding cutouts in the headlight housing. Then, insert the bulb socket into the housing and turn it clockwise until it stops.

For installation, plug in the electrical connector that was disconnected earlier to complete the installation of the headlight bulb.

Remove the instrument cluster and rotate the bulb counterclockwise to remove it.

Reach behind the headlight assembly and rotate the bulb holder counterclockwise to remove the bulb.

Grasp the bulb holder securely and rotate it counterclockwise to remove it from the housing. This step also applies to the fog lamp bulb holder.

Depress the release tab and pull off the connector.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Open the hood. If you're replacing the right-side headlight, remove the windshield washer reservoir for access to the bulb. If you're removing the left-side headlight, remove the cover from the fuse/relay box for access to the bulb. If that doesn't give you enough working room, you can unbolt the fuse/relay box for more access. Otherwise, the headlight housing will have to be removed. Reach behind the headlight assembly and unplug the electrical connector by depressing the clip on the harness connector.

Carefully pry out the interior light housing from the trim panel.

1. Detach the dome light lens. 2. Grasp the bulb securely and detach it from the spring clips at each end. 3. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Plug in the electrical connector.

There are three bulbs in the taillight housing.

1. Remove the bulb holder by rotating it counterclockwise. 2. Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out. 3. Installation is the reverse of removal.
