Remove the air cleaner duct assembly, then have an assistant hold the throttle pedal down while observing the link in the engine compartment to ensure it opens fully. If the link does not open completely, have the assistant continue holding the pedal down, loosen the adjusting nuts, and adjust the Throttle Cable until the mark or stopper is the specified distance from the boot end. After making the adjustments, securely tighten the adjusting nuts, recheck the clearance, and confirm that the link opens fully when the throttle is depressed.

Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, ensuring to check for any anti-theft system associated with the stereo before proceeding. Unscrew the locknut on the throttle cable at the throttle body, then rotate the throttle lever arm to create slack in the cable, allowing the cable end to be slipped out of its slot. Trace the throttle cable to the firewall, detaching it from all brackets, and remove the flange and two mounting bolts securing it to the firewall from inside the vehicle. Detach the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal and pull the cable through the firewall from inside the vehicle. For installation, reverse the removal steps. To adjust the cable, fully depress the accelerator pedal and verify that the throttle is fully opened; if not, loosen the locknuts, adjust the cable while the pedal is depressed, then tighten the locknuts and recheck the adjustment, ensuring the throttle closes fully when the pedal is not depressed.
