To install the leak detection pump, follow the reverse steps of removal. This includes connecting the inlet hose and electrical connector, securing the pump with the mounting bolts, and then attaching the pump to its designated location.

The EVAP canister purge valve is located behind the air filter housing on four-cylinder models and on the left end of the front bank cylinder head on V6 models. To remove it, the engine cover(s) must be removed first, followed by disconnecting the electrical connector and EVAP hoses from the purge valve. The purge valve can then be removed by taking out the mounting bolt. Installation is the reverse of removal. The EVAP canister, on the other hand, requires raising the vehicle and securely placing it on jack stands. The fuel tank needs to be removed, followed by disconnecting the electrical connector(s) and hoses from the canister. The electrical connector from the leak detection pump module also needs to be disconnected. The canister can then be detached by removing the three mounting bolts and any other wiring harnesses attached to the mounting bracket. Installation is the reverse of removal. Lastly, the leak detection pump can be removed by following the steps to remove the EVAP canister. This includes disconnecting the inlet hose and electrical connector, removing the pump mounting bolts, and then removing the pump itself. Installation is the reverse of removal.
