Toyota 21100-61024 CARBURETOR Assembly

Release fuel tank pressure by opening the filler cap. Disconnect the battery's negative terminal, ensuring you have any anti-theft codes if needed. Remove the air cleaner housing, disconnect accelerator and, if automatic, kick-down cables. Label and disconnect all vacuum hoses, fuel line, wires and terminals. Remove carburetor from intake manifold and its gasket, covering the manifold openings. Installation: Scrape old gasket material from manifold and carburetor, then clean mating surfaces with lacquer thinner or acetone. Install a new gasket and position the carburetor, tightening fasteners in a criss-cross pattern to 16 ft-lbs, 1/4-turn at a time. Reverse removal steps for remaining installation. Check and adjust idle speed if needed, then start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

A thorough road test and check of carburetor adjustments should be done.

Start the engine and allow it to idle. Disconnect the vacuum hose between the carburetor and the VTV at the carburetor side.
