Toyota 44420-35200 Cooler Assembly, Oil

Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter. Drain the coolant into a container. On V6 engines, remove the engine cover. This involves removing the fasteners securing the engine cover, then pulling the cover off (V6 models). Disconnect the hoses from the oil cooler. Be sure to position a drain pan underneath the cooler to catch any oil and coolant that spills out. Remove the union bolt and separate the oil cooler from the oil filter adapter. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to install a new O-ring and plate washer. Torque the union bolt to the specifications. Install a new oil filter. Refill the engine with oil and the cooling system with the proper type and concentration of antifreeze. Check for oil and coolant leakage and proper gauge function.
