Toyota 69005-04060 Cylinder Set, Lock

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and remove the steering column covers. For vehicles with an automatic transmission, remove the key interlock solenoid from the ignition lock cylinder housing by taking out two screws. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn it to the ACC position. Use an awl or a small punch to push down the stop pin through the hole in the lock cylinder housing, then pull the lock cylinder straight out until it contacts the upper stopper, which will allow it to come out about 1/4-inch. Remove the unlock warning switch by prying up the two locking lugs and pushing the switch down; to install, align it with the mounting rails and push it up until the lugs snap into place. Avoid removing the ignition lock cylinder with the switch installed, as the spring-loaded plunger may break. Insert a small screwdriver into the other hole in the lock cylinder housing, engaging the locking claw, and push the screwdriver handle forward until a click indicates the claw has disengaged, allowing you to pull out the lock cylinder. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the key is in the ACC position before inserting the ignition lock cylinder, which will click into place. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition switch, depress the two switch retaining tabs, and pull out the switch. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the switch clicks into place.

Remove the plug from the end of the door and remove the lock cylinder retaining screw (Remove the plug from the end of the door to access the door lock cylinder retaining bolt).
