To replace the door latch, first raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield. Next, remove the screws securing the latch to the door, which is held in place by three screws, and take out the latch assembly while keeping the two cables from the inside door handle attached. For the outside handle and lock cylinder assembly, again raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield, taking care to avoid scratching the paint by applying wide masking tape around the handle opening.
