    What should be done to prepare the Cylinder Head and engine block for reinstallation after the cylinder head removal for the 2001 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Gene Y.
    A:
    To prepare for reinstallation, ensure that the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and block are impeccably clean, removing all traces of carbon and old gasket material. Check for any nicks, deep scratches, or other damage on the block and head mating surfaces. Additionally, chase the threads in the cylinder head bolt holes and clean them with compressed air.
