Toyota 17141-75130 Exhaust Manifold

The following procedure applies to either exhaust manifold, First, remove one of the wires connected to the battery; it should be connected to the negative terminal. Subsequently, lift the front part of your car and put it on supports, preferably jackstands. Remove the front exhaust pipes from the exhaust manifold by unbolting and then unclipping them while also removing all the electrical connectors from the upstream oxygen sensors. Take off the exhaust manifold support bracket, undo the three bolts which hold it. Then, six nuts are to be deleted regarding the exhaust manifold, and the exhaust manifold is to be erased too. Remove the old exhaust manifold gasket. To install, undo the above procedures but the gasket must have the oval-shaped protruding tip positioned in the correct orientation; for the left manifold, the tip must go to the rear while for right manifold, the tip should go forward. Lastly, tighten the bolts and nuts of the exhaust manifold uniformly from the centre to the external ones to the recommended torque.

Take your vehicle to a dealer or authorized emissions inspection facility for diagnosis and repair, as the equipment for testing a catalytic converter is expensive.

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
