The blower unit in a vehicle is typically located in the passenger compartment under the glove box area. If the blower is not functioning properly, it is important to check the fuse and all connections in the circuit for looseness and corrosion, as well as ensuring that the battery is fully charged. If the blower motor operates at high speed but not at lower speeds, the issue is likely a faulty blower motor resistor, which can be found under the instrument panel on the passenger side. To replace the blower, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, lower the PCM and its bracket, disconnect the wiring connector from the blower, remove the three mounting screws, and lower the blower assembly from the housing. The fan can be removed and reused on the new blower motor. Installation is the reverse of removal.
