Toyota 04466-60020 Rear Disc Brake Pad Set

This procedure applies to both the front and rear disc brakes. Begin by removing the cap from the brake fluid reservoir. Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front or rear of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands, blocking the wheels at the opposite end. Remove the wheels and work on one brake assembly at a time, using the assembled brake for reference if necessary. Inspect the brake disc carefully; if machining is necessary, remove the disc to also take out the pads. Detach the pin retaining clip and remove the lower pad retaining pin to replace the front brake pads, following the specified steps for the rear brake pads as well. Ensure to stay in order and read the captions under each illustration. When reinstalling the caliper, tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque. After completing the job, firmly depress the brake pedal a few times to bring the pads into contact with the disc, check the brake fluid level, adding some if necessary, and carefully check the operation of the brakes before placing the vehicle into normal service.
