    Q:
How to remove and install a power steering pump on Toyota Camry? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Using a large syringe or suction gun, siphon as much fluid out of the power steering fluid reservoir as possible. Place a drain pan under the vehicle to catch any fluid that spills out when the hoses are disconnected. Loosen the right front wheel lug nuts. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the right front wheel. Remove the right front fender apron seal by removing the three screws and the plastic inner seal from the fender well. Remove the drive belt. Detach the fluid feed hose from the pump. Remove the banjo bold and the feed line fitting bolt. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Power Steering Pressure switch. Remove the pressure line-to-pump union bolt and separate the line from the pump. Use two wrenches, one to hold the pressure port fitting and one to hold the union bolt. Remove the sealing washers on each side of the fitting - these should be replaced when installing the pump. Working through the power steering pulley, loosen the pump mounting bolts completely. Turn the pulley until an opening is over the upper bolt for access. Lower the pump and remove the mounting bolts, then remove the pump. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten the pressure line banjo bolt and the feed line fitting bolt. Adjust the drive belt tension. Top up the fluid level in the reservoir and bleed the system.

    Q:
How to remove the power steering pump on 2002 through 2008 Toyota Solara? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before pulling the power steering pump, the cable connecting the negative terminal of the battery should be disconnected. Make sure to remove and dispose of old power steering fluid before refilling; to do this flush a large syringe or suction gun with fresh fluid and suck out all the fluid you can from the power steering's fluid reservoir and using a drain pan, spill tray or sink, catch all the levels the hoses as they disconnect. The right front wheel lug nuts should be loosened, the car needs to be lifted and safely placed on jack stands and then the right front wheel removed. Remove the right front fender apron seal by pulling it out together with the plastic inner seal with reference to three screws in the fender well. Next, remove the drivebelt. Cover the pump with a rag and then unscrew the banjo bolt and then, remove the feed line fitting bolt to disconnect the fluid feed hose then, remove the connector from the Power Steering Pressure switch. You should now unscrew the pressure line-to-pump union bolt and separate the pressure line from the pump, always replacing the sealing washers for new once. Last, you unscrew the pivot, adjuster and you may have other mounting bolts to unscrew to remove the pump, although the upper screw does not come right out but should be unscrewed till the pump detaches. In installation, reverse the removal procedures and when connecting the pressure line, the feed line fitting bolt, the adjuster and pivot bolts use the recommended torque. Tighten the drivebelt tension, add more fluid into the reservoir and then reapair then bleed the system.
