Toyota 44320-20040 Pump Assy, Vane

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then using a large syringe or suction gun, suck as much fluid out of the power steering fluid reservoir as possible. Loosen the right front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands, then remove the right front wheel. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the fluid return hose from the pump, then remove the pressure line-to-pump union bolt and separate the line from the pump. Remove the copper sealing washers on each side of the fitting, then loosen the pivot and adjuster bolt and remove the drivebelt. Remove the pivot, adjuster and upper mounting bolts, and lower the pump from the vehicle. Remove the union bolt and disconnect the pressure line from the pump, then loosen the pivot and adjusting bolts and remove the drivebelt. Remove the pulley nut or bolt and remove the power steering pump pulley. Remove the right drive axle, disconnect the right ABS speed sensor wiring, remove the pump drivebelt, remove the brackets and grommets securing the pressure hose to the pump, disconnect the tube from the pump, remove the bolts and brackets, then lift out the pump assembly. To install the pump, reverse the removal procedure, tighten the banjo fitting bolts to the torque fisted, adjust the drivebelt tension, top up the fluid level in the reservoir and bleed the system.
