To remove and replace the radiator in a vehicle, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and removing the engine splash shield and draining the cooling system. Then, remove the engine cover and grille if necessary. Next, detach the upper and lower radiator hoses from the radiator using pliers and remove the reservoir hose from the filler neck. Remove the Cooling Fan Assembly and fan shroud, and if applicable, remove the front bumper and radiator grille. Take out the radiator side deflector plastic retaining pins and deflectors, as well as the radiator mounting bolts. Carefully lift out the radiator, being cautious of dripping fluids and sharp fins. Inspect the radiator for leaks, damage, and blockage, and have any necessary repairs done by a professional. Clean the radiator of bugs and dirt using compressed air and a soft brush, being careful not to bend the cooling fins. Installation is the reverse of removal, and after installation, fill the cooling system with the proper mixture of antifreeze and water. Start the engine, check for leaks, and ensure the engine reaches normal operating temperature. Recheck the coolant level and add more if needed.
