    Q:
How to replace the power mirror switch, hazard warning switch, defogger control switch, and instrument panel light control switch on a 2002 through 2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start, detach the negative battery cable. Detach the electrical connection to the hazard warning switch from the instrument panel's center cluster by removing the panel while pulling out the whole assembly. Press the tab and pull out the hazard warning switch from the pocket, and reverse this process to put it back in place. Unscrew and detach the small panel where the power mirror control switch is. Use your trim tool to remove the panel and disconnect the switch cable; slide the switch out and reverse the process to put it back together. Find the rear defogger switch at the back of the heating and air conditioning roadster control panel. Pull the panel forward to disconnect the electrical connector at the switch's back. Press the tab and then carefully remove the switch from the bezel. Installing it is the opposite of how to remove it, only in reversed steps. Turn off the instrument panel lights from the driver's vent bezel. Use a tape-on screwdriver or tool to lift the trim panel, detach the electrical connector, and unclip the switch. Putting it all back works like taking parts out.

    Q:
How to remove and install the Mirror Switch, hazard warning switch, and dimmer switch on Toyota Matrix? Posted by Customer
    A:
For the hazard warning switch and rear window defogger switch replacement, remove the cable from negative terminal on the battery. Subsequently, make gentle extractions of the center finish panel of the instrument panel and also pull the assembly to disconnect the electrical connector at the rear part of the switches. Hold with one screwdriver at the holes as shown in picture #3 and turn the second screwdriver to compress the switch retaining tangs and pull out the switches, to install the switches reverse the process. As for the power mirror control switch and dimmer switch, these can commonly be found in a small panel to the left of the steering column; required steps will involve first carefully detaching this panel from the dash to access the electrical connector and then removing the switches, which will entail applying two screwdrivers to release the clips holding them in place; as for the reassembly of the switches, define the above given set of instructions in reverse.
