How to replace the front crankshaft seal in 3.5L V6 engine for the 2008 Toyota Highlander?

Remove the crankshaft pulley. Slowly lift the seal out of the timing chain cover using either a screwdriver or a seal removal tool and do not scratch the crankshaft. In case the screwdriver is used, it should be ensured that the housing bore and the crankshaft are not injured, for any of them could lead to leakage given the new seal. Scrub the bore for the timing chain cover and apply the engine oil or multi-purpose grease to the lip and outer marginal of the new seal. Thread a seal driver or a socket, the outside diameter of which would be slightly smaller than that of the seal over the circumference of the said seal and tap it gently into the corresponding housing until the same is seated firmly and in the same plane with the surface of the timing chain cover. After putting it, ensure the button is in tact and ensure that the spring is still intact and not out of place. Replace the crankshaft pulley and fasten the bolt to the required tightened torque. Last but not least, start the engine and look for the leakage at the front seal.
