Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, blocking the front wheels to prevent rolling. Support the rear axle with a floor jack and run a chain through the coil spring, bolting its ends together to prevent accidental release as the rear axle is lowered, ensuring there is enough slack for full extension. Disconnect the shock absorbers, stabilizer bar bushing brackets, and lateral rod from the axle. Slowly lower the rear axle housing just enough to remove the coil spring, taking care not to snag the brake line. Installation involves reversing the removal process, ensuring the lower end of the coil spring is properly seated on the spring seat and tightening all suspension fasteners to the specified torque.
