How to remove and install the steering gear in a Toyota Camry and Toyota Avalon?

To access the rack and pinion in a Toyota, remove the engine and transaxle assembly. Detach the pressure and return lines from the rack and pinion and remove its mounting fasteners. Check the rack and pinion's mounting grommets for wear, replacing if needed. To reinstall, position the rack and pinion and install the fasteners. Reinstall the engine and transaxle assembly, aligning the U-joint marks. Attach the tie-rod ends, install the U-joint pinch bolt, and connect the power steering hoses. Fill the pump reservoir with fluid, reattach the bracket, lower the vehicle, and bleed the system.
