To replace the combination switch on 1990 and later models, try reaching the combination switch with your left hand and the negative cable from the battery with your right hand while trending new blip lines. Subsequently, extract the lower finish panel together with the steering wheel and the steering column cover. Then, remove the four screws , which retain the combination switch, follow the harness down the steering column to the connector and release any wire retainer clips if existed. Remove the connector and shift the switch off the column; to install, reverse the procedure. To replace the turn signal/headlight control switch, one has to expel the combination switch then take out the screws present on the front side of the combination switch In addition, one has to disconnect the locking tab of the lever and finally, one is required to push the lever forward and upwards to unlock it. In terms of installation, the operation is the reverse of removal; pull the wiring terminals of the switch from the electrical connector. For the cruise control switch, you will need to unscrew two retaining screws, disconnect the electrical connector, and then remove the switch off the combination switch and then disconnect the switch wiring terminals from the electrical connector; to install, reverse the mentioned procedures. For the wiper/washer control switch, prayers the switch using the front retaining screws and the four rear retention screws follow by disconnecting the switch wiring terminals from its electrical connector and to replace it, the procedures is in reverse. To remove all the electrical connectors, you have to trace the wiring harness from switch to electrical connector then apply the tape on wires and terminals to make it easier. As for the combination switch cover, this is opened by using a small screwdriver or punch for accessing the terminals; to remove it, one just has to force down the locking lug; to join it, simply slot the terminal into the connector through a push action with the locking lug lodging into place; the final touch is to close the connector cover to lock the terminals.
