Ensure the throttle cable bracket is not bent or loose before making any adjustments, and confirm that the rubber boot is properly seated on the adjuster. Press the accelerator pedal fully to the floor, ensuring the throttle cable in the throttle body is completely open; check and adjust the accelerator cable if needed. Measure the distance the stopper or painted mark on the cable extends from the boot, adjusting as necessary to achieve the proper length. If the boot-to-stopper clearance is incorrect, loosen and back off the outer adjusting nut, then turn the inner adjusting nut to adjust the cable housing for the specified clearance, making sure to tighten the outer nut to secure the housing in place.
