Toyota Land Cruiser Timing Chain

The function of the Toyota Land Cruiser Timing Chain is to maintain the operation of the camshaft and crankshaft and make the opening and closing of the valves happen in coordination with the movement of the piston. The chain, which is made of metal, is located at the front side of the engine. The chain is lubricated with the help of oil in the engine. The cams and crank sprockets are interconnected by the chain. Consistent combustion is maintained with the help of coordinated rotary motion. The operation is also smooth due to the above reasons. When it comes to the stock Toyota Land Cruiser engine, aligning the timing marks on the cam and crank sprockets provides the essential alignment when fitting the Timing Chain. To ensure accuracy and quiet running, the Timing Chain, sprockets, tensioner, and guides are usually changed as a complete set. Although the Timing Chain suffers little wear, lubrication problems or faulty tensioners and guides can lead to slack, which causes a rattle noise from the front of the engine and a possible valve timing error. The properly serviced Toyota Land Cruiser Timing Chain can operate long without the replacement intervals of a rubber belt.
