Before you can then withdraw the
Crankshaft Pulley you need to first unscrew the fan and hub assembly then also remove the air conditioning compressor, if the car has, and the last but not least the alternator bracket assembly that is sited on the cylinder head. Finally, unbolt the timing cover and separate it from the engine, paying attention to not to mar the sealing surfaces and not the apply harsh force between the cover and block. For installation carefully wash the cover and all sealing gasket area so that no gasket material remains there. Remove the old oil seal from the back of the timing cover with the aid of a screw-driver and install a new one. After fetching a new timing cover gasket, add the gasket sealing compound on the both sides of the gasket and place the gasket on the engine block. Insert the timing cover to the engine block and tighten the bolts only moderately at the beginning, and put thread sealer on two lower bolts. The crankshaft pulley should be fitted and tight then place the timing cover to its correct position and tighten the bolt to the required torque. Last of all, replace the remaining parts in the sequence they were removed and start the engine to check for any oil leakage.
