The ignition switch and Ignition Lock Cylinder are located on the right side of the steering column assembly. To check them, locate the large plastic electrical connector next to the turn signal/hazard flasher/
Dimmer Switch connector at the bottom of the steering column assembly; the ignition switch electrical connector is a large dark connector, while the warning buzzer connector is a small white one located beneath the forward end of the steering column assembly. The smaller connector activates the warning buzzer when the key is turned on. Use an ohmmeter to check the continuity between the indicated terminals of their electrical connectors; if the continuity of the ignition switch or the buzzer is not as specified, replace the ignition switch. For replacement, first remove the steering wheel, then take out the six screws from the lower steering column assembly cover half and remove both the upper and lower covers from the steering column assembly. Next, remove the lower dash panel, followed by the Ignition Lock Cylinder retaining screw, and then take out the Ignition Lock Cylinder. Installation is the reverse of removal.
