Before taking off the steering wheel one has to disconnect the car battery negative terminal. Subsequently, slide out the steering wheel pad with the help of the single screw placed at the base of the pad and lifting it off. Having disconnected the horn, unscrew the steering wheel nut next to it. For the steering wheel to be properly reinstalled, scribe or paint a line between the steering wheel and the steering column shaft. Some of the steps include; Using a steering wheel puller, this will help in the removal of steering wheel from the shaft. For installation screw the nut on to the steering wheel column shaft where there is corresponding mark on the two while you can tighten it to the recommended torque. Last of all, the steering wheel pad should be fitted back and then the negative terminal of the battery should be connected back.
