Always replace the calipers in pairs - never replace just one of them. To remove, first loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheels. For a front caliper, disconnect the brake hose by removing the banjo bolt and plugging the hose to prevent contamination and fluid loss. For a rear caliper, loosen the hose fitting but do not unscrew it yet. Next, remove the caliper mounting bolts and then the caliper itself, unscrewing it from the brake hose if it's a rear caliper. If necessary, take off the caliper torque plate from the steering knuckle. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring that for a rear caliper, it is threaded onto the brake hose as far as possible before securing it. After tightening the mounting bolts to the specified torque, securely tighten the brake hose fitting and install new sealing washers on either side of the banjo fitting. Finally, bleed the brake system, install the wheels and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque.
