To start with removal of the components you need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and while doing this you need to look for anti theft that is associated with the stereo. Subsequently, they also suggested to take out the air intake chamber, the distributor, and the EGA cooler from the engine. Label and detach all the electrical connecters in the manner, placing the harnesses aside. Remove the pulsation damper and the No.1 fuel line, then open the clamp to disconnect the radiator hose and take out the bolts to disconnect the thermostat housing. To loosen the intake manifold from the head, eight bolts and two nuts have to be unscrewed; if necessary-use force to break the gasket's seal; however, do not use a pry bar as it may cause damages. With regards to installation, the mating surfaces of the
Cylinder Head and manifold should be clean and flat and gasket removal solvents can be used if necessary. Debris all old material with gasket scraper, then clean the surface with cloth and acetone or lacquer thinner to avoid vacuum leaks. Inspection of the intake manifold based on its warpage may be done with a straight edge and a feeler gauge; If the warpage exceeds allowable limit, then the intake manifold should be replaced. Carry out the internal threads in the bolt holes with a tap and blow the area clean using compressed air. Place the intake manifold gasket inplace on the cylinder head ensuring that all the holes and openings are aligned. Place the manifold over the gasket and while fixing the bolts/nuts make sure they are tightened with equal force in a criss-cross manner and up to the torque recommended in three passes. The subsequent steps as pertaining to installation are the reverse of the removal steps.
