Before taking off the exhaust manifold, unbolt the negative cable of the car battery. If the car incorporates the Pulse Air Injection system, send the pipes and valve assembly in the
Cylinder Head and exhaust manifold away. Next, remove the upper heat insulator which is held in place by bolts on the exhaust manifold. Soak the exhaust manifold bolts and nuts as well as all the nuts connecting the exhaust pipe to the manifold with penetrating oil. Next, prepare the nuts that are remaining with the exhaust pipe after the process of soaking them. Then, to dismantle the manifold as well as the gasket, you will have to remove the nuts on the particular. To install, a scraper should be used to remove the old gasket materials and carbons from the manifold's mating surface and cylinder head. If there was a gasket leak, take manifold to check for warpage, and get it resurfaced as appropriate. Align a new gasket over the cylinder head studs with outward facing the marks on its face. In position the manifold and screw on the mounting nuts in a spiral sequence applying equal and increasing force in equal stop till the recommended torque is achieved. Last of all, replace the rest of the parts in reverse fashion and start the engine to inspect exhaust leaks.
