    Q:
How to remove and install a clutch master cylinder on Toyota 4Runner? Posted by Customer
    A:
Draw out the hydraulic fluid from the clutch master cylinder reservoir with a syringe. Disconnect the clutch fluid hydraulic line by loosening the hydraulic line retaining nut with a flare nut wrench and removing the two mounting nuts, using a flare-nut wrench to protect the tube nut. Have rags handy, as some fluid will be lost during this process. Working inside the passenger compartment, remove the left lower finish panel(s). Disengage the return spring, remove the cotter pin and clevis pin to disconnect the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal, then pry off the return spring and push out the clevis pin. Remove the master cylinder mounting nuts and detach the master cylinder from the firewall. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the master cylinder mounting nuts are tightened. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir with the specified fluid and bleed the clutch system.

    Q:
How to Remove the Clutch Master Cylinder on a Toyota Echo? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the Clutch Master Cylinder, start by releasing the spring clip on the Clutch Hose at the top of the cylinder and disconnecting the hose. Clamp the fluid supply hose or use a plug to prevent fluid loss. Unscrew the slave cylinder supply pipe union at the side of the master cylinder, using penetrating fluid if necessary. Inside the car, move the driver's seat fully to the rear and remove the pedal return spring with needle-nosed pliers. Remove the spring clip and clevis pin to detach the clutch pedal. Remove the two master cylinder mounting nuts inside the car and withdraw the master cylinder. If the master cylinder is faulty, it will need to be replaced. To refit, tighten the mounting nuts and fluid pipe union to the specified torque. Ensure the fluid hose connection is clean and secure, and bleed the clutch upon completion.

    Q:
How to remove and reinstall a clutch master cylinder and power brake booster on Toyota Matrix? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the driver's side knee bolster. Under the dashboard, disconnect the pushrod from the top of the clutch pedal. It's held in place with a clevis pin. To remove the clevis pin, remove the clip. Remove the brake master cylinder and the power brake booster. Disconnect the hydraulic line at the clutch master cylinder. If available, use a flare-nut wrench on the fitting, to protect the fitting from being rounded off. Have rags handy as some fluid will be lost as the line is removed. From under the dash, remove the nuts which attach the master cylinder to the firewall. Remove the master cylinder, again being careful not to spill any of the fluid. Position the master cylinder on the firewall, installing the mount-ing nuts finger-tight. Connect the hydraulic line to the master cylinder, moving the cylinder slightly as necessary to thread the fitting properly into the bore. Don't cross-thread the fitting as it's installed. Tighten the mounting nuts and the hydraulic line fitting securely. Connect the pushrod to the clutch pedal. Install the power brake booster and master cylinder. Connect the clutch fluid feed line to the brake fluid reservoir. Fill the brake fluid reservoir with the proper brake fluid and bleed the clutch system and the brake system. Check the clutch pedal height and freeplay.

    Q:
How to replace a clutch master cylinder on 1997 through 2001 Toyota Solara? Posted by Customer
    A:
To disconnect and remove the clutch master cylinder, begin by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Then, disconnect the hydraulic line at the clutch master cylinder, using a flare-nut wrench if available to prevent rounding off the fitting. Take precautions with rags as some fluid may be lost during the disconnection. Under the dashboard, disconnect the pushrod from the top of the clutch pedal, which is held in place with a clevis pin. Moving to the underside of the dash, remove the nuts securing the master cylinder to the firewall, ensuring not to spill any fluid during the removal. For installation, position the master cylinder on the firewall and install the mounting nuts finger-tight. Connect the hydraulic line to the master cylinder, adjusting the cylinder position as needed to properly thread the fitting into the bore, ensuring it is not cross-threaded. Tighten the mounting nut(s) and the hydraulic line fitting securely. Connect the pushrod to the clutch pedal. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid that conforms to DOT specifications and proceed to bleed the clutch system. Finally, check the clutch pedal height and free play, making adjustments if necessary.

    Q:
How to remove and install the clutch master cylinder on 2002 through 2008 Toyota Solara? Posted by Customer
    A:
Separate the cable that removes electricity from the battery. When repairing a Solara, take out the brake master cylinder and power brake system before starting. Loosen the flare connection of the clutch master cylinder hydraulic line with a flare nut wrench to protect both parts. Keep towels ready because some fluid will drip out. Keep brake fluid away from your car's paint. When the chemicals touch, it harms the paint job. At the base of the dash, hold and slide out the pushrod where it's connected to the top of the clutch pedal, secured by the clevis pin. Push out the pin from the clip to unlock and remove. Remove the clutch master cylinder from the firewall underneath your dashboard by first taking out its nuts. Be careful not to drip any fluid while doing this. Place the master cylinder on the firewall and start the mounting nuts by hand. Tie the hydraulic line to the master cylinder, changing the cylinder's location just a bit to fit the connection correct and avoid scratching or damage. Drive the mounting nut in place until the torque wrench reads what we need, and make sure the hydraulic line connection stays tight. Attach the pushrod to the clutch pedal, top up the clutch master cylinder with brake fluid meeting DOT 3 standard, and clear air from the clutch system.
