    How to replace the rear Shock Absorbers on my Toyota Sienna? Posted by July B.

    To remove the rear shock absorbers, start by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts and raising the rear of the vehicle on jack stands. Remove the wheels and locate the access cover in the rear quarter panel trim inside the vehicle. Remove the shock absorber lower mounting bolt or nut, as well as the shock absorber upper mounting nut(s). Prepare the new shock absorber by placing the lower retainer and rubber insulator onto the top. Install the upper end of the shock absorber into its mounting hole and push the lower end onto its mounting stud. Tighten the lower mounting bolt or nut, followed by the upper retainers and insulators. Finally, install the access cover, and wheels, and lower the vehicle while tightening the lug nuts.

    I have not included the last four digits of my VIN rather I installed generic numbers. This will not impact your ability to answer my question. I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna 3.3L CE model fwd. Partial VIN 5TDZA29C36S39 Engine code 3MZFE. Model Code MCL23L-SBADKK. The vehicle is a van. You list it as 2 seater here in Canada they typically refer to it as a seven passenger van. I live in Canada. I was looking at Rear Shock absorbers; three were displayed. When I did a specific vehicle check part #48531-A9050 (Mark 48531-AE020) was indicated. A few questions. You don't seem to give the dimensions of the product or do so in an unfamiliar way. 26.4 inches I presume is the extended length. this measurement is followed by 6.8x5.8 inches? Please explain. What is the compressed length and what is the travel length? Thanks for your time. P.S I did try to call for technical assistance but your answering machine says this service is no longer available.
